FAQ

  • What is a Duo Session?

A duo session is a shared pilates session with a partner of your choosing ( usually a spouse, friend, or family member). This option is for those who want or like working out with someone. The Duo sessions are 1 hour and the cost of the private is split. Each person pays $40 for that hour and they book their session separately ( but at the same time slot as their duo person) as every person needs to book for themselves.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

The CORE Movement Studio asks that you provide us with at least 10 hours notice for any canceled or rebooked sessions. Canceling within the 10-hour window, No Call or NO SHOWs will result in a loss of class credit.

In the event of an emergency, Mgmt will determine on a case-by-case basis .

  • Can I call to discuss booking a session?

Yes, however, you will need to go to the booking page to set up a free 5-10 minute phone consultation ( under the Services tab on the booking page)

Because I am an instructor, my phone is on silent all day. When I’m working with clients or teaching classes I give them my full attention and respect their time by not checking my phone. By booking a call in the calendar, you are ensuring that I will call you at the time you set, giving you my fullest attention during your booked time slot.

  • What if my Duo Partner needs to cancel their booking?

If your duo partner cancels their scheduled session for any reason, the other party has 2 options, keep their session and pay the difference for the class now being a private session ($80; an additional $40 payment would be needed before the session), or you can have a 30 min private session at the $40 class credit rate.

  • Are privates more effective than group classes?

Private sessions allow for greater strength development in your practice. Having someone who assesses your alignment throughout the whole class can help fix an individual’s improper alignment and imbalances and target your specific goals. Large Group classes can be lacking when one instructor is teaching a whole class with an average spring tension or weight and is not able to watch all the bodies in class and can miss when clients are not in proper alignment for the movement. Not being aligned during movement can lead to the body making compensations elsewhere. It is also easy to fall into mindless movement patterns. Additionally, bad form or not using the proper tension /weight load for YOUR body can lead to injuries down the road. Group classes are great for most people, but for those who are new to the movement method or have injuries, limitations, or any restrictions, they find that private sessions help them get a deeper understanding of their body and see results sooner.

  • Can you come teach me in my home?

Yes, however, it depends on many factors:

How far of a commute would it be and what is the time of commute during your requested session?

What equipment do you already own at your location? ( Reformer, Chair, Barre, TRX, Etc.)

How often do you want to train?

~Pricing would be determined on a case-by-case request.

  • What should I bring with me?

A small towel, a bottle or cup for water ( we have a Zero water tower if needed),

Grip socks are required for certain pilates moves and are highly recommended; regular socks are not allowed on the equipment due to safety reasons.

Gloves are recommended for certain wrist-heavy pilates exercises. (WAGs brand is what I recommend to my clients )

Personal loop straps or other props you own are welcome.

We ask that you wear active wear that is form-fitting.

Please tie back all long hair. long hair can get stuck in the equipment.

***No jewelry is allowed while on equipment.

  • Can I bring my kids with me to a session

Unfortunately, not at this time. I am not set up to host children in either of the studios while I am instructing. There is nowhere for them to sit, watch, or hang out.

If you would like to take a Duo session with your child who is under the age of 16, please let me know before signing up for classes. Minors under the age of 16 will need to 1st have a 30-minute evaluation with me so that I determine your child’s proprioception and see if the movement method chosen is the right fit.

The majority of teens that I work with are heavily involved with outside sports like Ballet, Gymnastics, Golf, Dance, etc.

  • Why do you need 12 hours lead time to book a sesion?

This is so that we have enough notice to have the studios ready and available for your requested session. If you need a session sooner than 12 hours advance notice, please email us letting us know of your request and we will try to accommodate, however, we do not make any promises that the time requested will be available or that the studio needed is available. From time to time other instructors may be utilizing one or both of the studios or we may be hosting a training session. Deep Cleaning and maintenance are also conducted regularly during non-session hours.
